Sports and entertainment platform DAZN has agreed a global distribution partnership with Amazon.

The new deal will see DAZN’s sports streaming service available as a new feature on Amazon’s Prime Video platform for an additional monthly fee.

The DAZN offering has initially only launched on Amazon Prime in Spain and Germany, but the rollout is expected to continue in other territories throughout 2023. Although more information on the rollout is expected in the coming months, it is thought that Japan will be the next market to see the changes.

Jay Marine, Global Head of Sports, Prime Video, said, “This new partnership with DAZN is an exciting step forward for Prime Video’s global sports offering, and gives our customers more choice of the best live and on-demand sports, all in one place.”

Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN, added, “This is great news for sports fans around the world with even more ways to access DAZN’s broad selection of premium sports content. We are excited to create a long-term global partnership with Prime Video as we continue to innovate in digital sports experiences for customers”.

The DAZN platform is currently available in Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Japan, Canada, US and the UK.

Its portfolio of sports contents includes top-flight football from the Premier League, Bundesliga, J.League, LaLiga, Serie A, and the UEFA Champion’s League, in addition to boxing Formula 1, NBA, MotoGP and the UFC.

DAZN will now become the latest Amazon Prime Video Channels joining other platforms available via an Amazon subscription such as HBO Max, Discovery+, Paramount+ Lionsgate+ and Showtime.
