Global sports and entertainment platform DAZN has announced EA SPORTS, a division of US video game developers Electronic Arts, as the newest sponsor of its UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) broadcast coverage.

The multi-year partnership will formally commence in March 2023 and span all live matches from the quarter-finals through to the final in May.

The global sponsorship deal will see EA SPORTS advertising feature across all matchday global broadcasts of the knockout stage, on both DAZN and on DAZN’s UWCL YouTube channel.

Notably, the timing of EA SPORTS’ sponsorship coincides with the UWCL being available for fans to play in EA SPORTS’ flagship football game, FIFA 23, for the first time. The option becomes available to gamers in early 2023.

DAZN’s women’s football offering continues to grow. The platform also holds rights for the English Football Association (FA) Barclays Women’s Super League and Women’s FA Cup across multiple territories, a five-year deal with Spain’s Finetwork Liga F, an eight-year contract to broadcast WE League in Japan, and a new deal with Frauen-Bundesliga in Germany.

This year’s UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign kicks off on Wednesday 19th October. Arsenal is the first British side to take part, travelling to France to take Lyon on the competition’s opening night.
