dazn Grows Portfolio With Acquisition

Global sports and entertainment streaming company DAZN Group has completed its acquisition of ELEVEN Group businesses and social media creative agency Team Whistle.

ELEVEN’s portfolio of rights broadens DAZN’s growing footprint, specifically within football. As well as offering local sports content in Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Canada, US and UK, DAZN has secured ELEVEN’s extensive right portfolio in Belgium, Portugal and Taiwan.

Belgian rights include the country’s top tier domestic football league, the Jupiler Pro League, as well as other international content.

In Portugal, ELEVEN holds key international football rights, such as the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League, and in Taiwan it has local baseball. All of which will now be available via the DAZN streaming platform.

According to a statement, DAZN’s acquisition of Team Whistle, part of the ELEVEN group, will help it develop its ‘engagement with new and existing audiences’ through the US-headquartered company’s social reach and strategy.

Furthermore, the new relationship will see Team Whistle leverage DAZN’s rights and talent to ‘create off-platform value, build audiences and drive fans towards its paid-for services and content.’

DAZN also recently secured a 10-year partnership with the NFL, will see DAZN deliver NFL Game Pass International (NFL GPI) on its platform, beginning with the 2023 season.
