UK-headquartered streaming giant DAZN has inked a main shirt sponsorship deal with Spanish football club UD Almeria.

Under the agreement, the company’s logo will feature on the front of the club’s men’s and women’s team shirts for the 2024/25 season.

DAZN will also receive prominent visibility throughout the second tier club’s Power Horse Stadium home.

The partnership mark’s DAZN’s first in the shirt sponsorship space, as the company partners with the LaLiga 2 outfit.

Meanwhile, the new pact with the Spanish club, which is owned by Turki Al-Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s Minister and Chairman of the General Entartainment Authority, comes amid reports that the company is in talks over an investment deal with the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Earlier this month, reports suggested the PIF had held discussions over a potential $1bn (£760m), 10% stake acquisition in DAZN, with the media company seeking a valuation of between $10m and $12m £7.6bn and £9.2bn.

Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said, “We’re excited to join forces with UD Almería, who shares our vision of excellence and dedication to enhancing the fan experience through constant innovation.

“We’re looking forward to contributing to the success of both teams chaired by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, with whom we’ve been collaborating for some time in Saudi Arabia to increase access to sport and create a global fan community.”
