Coca-Cola Championship side Derby County, who are in the running for promotion
to the FA Premier League, has unveiled proposals for a new £20m retail
development around the club’s Pride Park stadium.
The plans for the Pride Plaza scheme, which would create around 250 jobs,
include a 165-bed hotel, bars, restaurants and office space.
The plans have yet to be submitted to the city council but the club have held
preliminary discussions with senior council officers and say the talks have been
positive.
No timescale has been put on the project which depends on the planning
process and negotiations with interested businesses.
