Disney are in advanced negotiations to stream weekly LaLiga matches in the UK and Ireland on Disney+ during the upcoming season.

The agreement, which is expected to begin for the 2025/26 season, is aligning with heightened UK interest in the Spanish league following Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s loan move to Barcelona.

Rashford is one of five English players set to compete in LaLiga this season, joining Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid. The development reflects LaLiga’s growing appeal among UK audiences, as well as Disney’s broader strategy to expand into live sports content globally.

Separately, Disney+ has secured the rights to stream the UEFA Women’s Champions League across Europe from the 2025/26 season through to 2029/30. This multi-year agreement has further solidified Disney’s positioning within the sports broadcasting space as it continues to build its portfolio across major football competitions.

The moves have come amid increasing demand for sports content on digital platforms and follow a broader trend of streaming services acquiring key rights to live events traditionally held by broadcasters.
