Draftkings Signs Transferkings Deal

Daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform, DraftKings, has continued its UK expansion with the acquisition of the player database of free-play DFS platform TransferKings.

The deal will allow TransferKings players in the UK to make the transition from free play to a cash game with prizes.

TransferKings customers will be invited to sign up to DraftKings website and mobile apps, and enter contests in any of the sports currently offered on the platform.

“We want to expand our audience in the United Kingdom, and this is an effective way to reach an even larger group ofpassionate fantasy football fans,” said Jeffrey Haas, chief international officer of DraftKings. “As the leader in daily fantasysports in the UK today, we are thrilled to welcome TransferKings’ players to the big time.”

Hemant Maini, co-founder and chief executive officer of TransferKings said; “We have built a large base of fantasy football fans and are excited to offer them the opportunity to expand their passion for football and other sports by joining the DraftKings platform.”

DraftKings, who launched in the United Kingdom in February this year, has seen year-over-year growth. DraftKings now has more than seven million registered players globally, 300,000 of whom play the skill-based daily fantasy football games across a range of leagues, including: Premier League; UEFA Champions League; UEFA Europa League; Major League Soccer; and Liga MX.
