Fantasy sports platform, DraftKings, has partnered with Premier League football clubs Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford as it expands into the UK market.
DraftKings’ deals with the clubs are part of the Boston-based company’s next steps in operating outside of North America, with UK gambling regulators granting a gambling license in August last year.
The deal will see the brand’s presence across the three clubs’ grounds during domestic fixtures, as well as marketing activities being promoted through digital and social media channels.
Fans worldwide will also be able to win prizes such as matchday tickets, signed merchandise and experiences as part of the deal.
Jason Robins, co-founder and chief executive, DraftKings said: “The reality in the UK is that DraftKings will bring a totally new experience for sports fans, especially those of Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford. We offer our players the opportunity to test their skill at fantasy contests with the immediacy of daily play.
“Our ambition is to bring players as close to the action as possible, with all the information they need to assemble the best teams. To do that, we are partnering with some of the biggest names in football here in the UK.”
Arsenal’s chief commercial officer, Vinai Venkatesham added: “We are delighted to be partnering with DraftKings, who become our first official daily fantasy sports partner. Working with the leader in the daily fantasy sports industry will ensure Arsenal fans, and football fans in general, have access to unique daily and weekly fantasy Premier League and sport-related contests. We look forward to working with DraftKings at such a critical point in their global expansion.”
