Dream11 has expanded into the United Kingdom as part of its international rollout into 11 new markets after restrictions on money-based online gaming have been imposed in India.

The Indian-based fantasy sports platform has entered the UK, United States, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and South Africa. It has offered fantasy games based on football, cricket, and other major sports to more than 250 million global players.

Dream11 has built its reputation in fantasy sports before extending into real money gaming (RMG), an industry that has included more than 400 startups and employed around 200,000 people in India. It has also partnered with major sports properties, including the Indian Premier League and the Indian national cricket team.

At its peak, Dream11 has been valued at approximately US$8 billion. However, the recent nationwide ban on RMG in India has significantly affected its domestic operations, prompting the company to accelerate its overseas expansion strategy.

The UK market presents both an opportunity and a challenge. It already hosts several established fantasy sports and betting operators, such as DraftKings and FanDuel, but Dream11 has targeted the region as a key growth area. The company has projected the UK fantasy sports market to reach an estimated value of US$3 billion by 2030, and its entry forms part of a broader effort to diversify its business and maintain its global presence in sports-related technology and engagement.
