Sports and fitness communications agency Promote PR has been appointed by Dunlop International Europe to support the brand’s global relaunch.

As part of its new brief, the agency will create campaigns and content promoting new products and future brand partnerships of the tennis equipment manufacturer in markets around the world.

The Dunlop win adds to Berkshire-based Promote PR’s current client roster, which also features The ECB, England Hockey, the RFU and Premiership Rugby.

Commenting on the appointment, Jamie Douglas, international marketing director, Dunlop Sports, said: “It was clear on first meeting Promote that they not only have exceptional pedigree in sport, but they also understood the key challenges we face in relaunching an iconic brand internationally.

“With their expertise and guidance, we are confident that we will communicate a strong brand proposition in the global exposure we secure for our new products and partnerships.

Nasima Hussain, MD at Promote PR, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Dunlop into the growing portfolio of clients we support at an international level.

“Dunlop is a brand with such a rich heritage and the future looks very exciting. We are delighted to be part of it.”

Dunlop, which has a strong tennis heritage, was acquired by Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) – owner of Srixon and Cleveland Golf – from Sports Direct in 2017, in a deal worth $137.5million.

The brand’s equipment is used by Wimbledon 2018 finalist Kevin Anderson and current stars including Agnieszka Radwanska, Donald Young, Heather Watson, Jamie Murray and US legends James Blake and Michael Chang.
