Duracell has become a partner of Williams Racing in a new multi-year deal between the battery manufacturer and the Formula One team.

Under the terms of the partnership, the Duracell logo will feature prominently on Williams cars from the start of the 2022 season, as well as on team kits and the race suits of drivers Alex Albon and Nicholas Latifi. The new car is to be unveiled at a ceremony later today (15th February).

The two organisations also said they will collaborate at several Grands Prix with on-the-ground activations, starting at the inaugural Miami Grand Prix in May.

Jost Capito, Team Principal and CEO for Williams Racing, spoke of his delight at welcoming Duracell on board, whilst also revealing why this deal has somewhat of a personal connection.

He said, “I am so proud of this partnership between Williams and Duracell, and I am grateful for the trust and confidence they have put in us.

“Having their name on the side of our car is a personal highlight for me, as my nickname for 30 years has been Duracell – because I never run out of energy. I am very much looking forward to our work together.”

Connecticut-headquartered Duracell is the latest North America-based group to become involved in Formula One as the championship continues its expansion. Cloud-based software company Oracle recently became the title sponsor of the Red Bull team ahead of the 2022 season.
