ECB Announces Digital Collaborations

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced two new collaborations with digital agencies Seenit and Little Dot Studios.

The partnerships will expand the ECB’s current digital offering and help fans to engage more with cricket through new channels and personal content creation.

The partnership with Seenit will allow fans to capture video content from their phones, which will then be curated and shared by the ECB with millions of fans around the world.

Little Dot Studios will work with the ECB to grow the YouTube audience, strengthen online identity, explore new creative opportunities and achieve look to achieve greater traction and engagement on social media. They will manage ECB’s YouTube channel, which will include creating content from the ECB’s archive of international and county cricket and publishing clips and highlights of its summer cricket schedule.

These collaborations come on the back of a recent award nominations for the ECB for Digital Platform of the Year at the BT Sport Industry Awards 2017.

Nick Shaw, head of digital at ECB, said: “We’re putting fan engagement at the heart of our digital strategy and it’s through innovative partnerships such as these that we’re able to ensure that our fans can easily access all of our content.

“What these partnerships can achieve for our fan base and the game is very exciting. It will bring fans into the conversation like never before and result in authentic and engaging content. This is the ideal moment to further promote the England teams, County competitions and the recreational game through new digital initiatives.

“It’s also encouraging to see the recognition our digital approach is getting, including the re-design and re-build of our website at the end of last year, not just from users but from the industry as a whole.”

Sanjay Patel, ECB’s commercial director, added: “We see digital as key to growing the game amongst traditional and new fans and are now entering an innovative phase of this approach.

“We’re confident that by working with both Seenit and Little Dot Studios we can help create engaging and authentic content that increases the reach of the game during a very exciting summer of cricket and beyond.”
