Ahead of the 2019 Specsavers Ashes Series the ECB has appointed creative agency Designroom Sport to create a new identity for the tournament which starts in August.
The brief was to design a mark focused on the equity that exists within the word “Ashes” in order to communicate the prestige of the historic sporting contest.
Designroom Sport has explored bespoke typography as part of their creative approach. Electing to draw the new identity by hand the team have focused on specific letterforms and the relationship between them within the wordmark.
