The ECB has launched a new interactive campaign ahead of the Investec Ashes Series, calling on fans to “#RISE for England” and show their support for the team.
The artwork features England players and will be used across all of ECB’s digital channels, in-ground, as well as in various city centre locations in the four cities where the Series takes place.
The ECB has also released a short film, with poem, to mark the launch of the campaign ahead of the Series. Check it out at Sport Industry TV.
Fans tweeting their message of support using #RISE or through ecb.co.uk/ashes could also be featured on a ‘Wall of Support’ in the England team room before each of the five Investec Ashes Tests, beginning at Trent Bridge on 10th July.
Throughout the Series, ecb.co.uk/ashes will offer fans live scores, news, exclusive behind-the scenes content, highlights of every session, as well as competitions, and members of TwelfthMan – the Official Fan Community of England Cricket – will receive an email update of each day’s play, including video highlights.
Over 300 cricket clubs will also #RISE for the Ashes when they promote their own ‘Club Open Days’ over the five Investec Ashes weekends. Clubs will open their doors to their communities free of charge, and guests will be able to enjoy the action live on Sky Sports, whilst enjoying local teams playing at the ground.
David Collier, chief executive of ECB, said: ‘The Ashes captures the public’s imagination like no other sporting contest. We want the entire nation to rise for the occasion, as I’m sure the team will. The #RISE campaign gives fans the chance to interact with and show their support for the team during the Investec Ashes Series, and we hope that the summer’s action inspires more people to play, attend and follow our great game.’
‘I urge everyone to follow the action on ecb.co.uk/ashes and attend a Club Open Day on Ashes weekends to experience club life and take the opportunity to watch the live action with fellow cricket fans.’
Collier, alongside former England captain and the next MCC president Mike Gatting, spoke to Mark Pougatch about the Investec Ashes Series at last week’s Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club. Check out the highlights of the event, or find out more here.
