The England & Wales Cricket Board has launched a new cryptic image of famous and not-so-famous cricketing terms. “#WHATZAT” challenges fans to work out fifty clues, ranging from ‘Ashes’ to ‘Twelfth Man’, doubling as an interactive game hosted on www.whatzat.co.uk with top prizes, including tickets to the Investec Ashes Series, up for grabs.
By entering answers, visitors to the site can enter their score for the chance to win tickets to major international and county matches this season, with participants also encouraged to challenge friends and colleagues over Facebook or Twitter.
By solving five of the fifty cryptic clues hidden in the image online at www.whatzat.co.uk, fans can enter a draw to win one of five pairs of tickets to the Friends Life t20 Finals Day at Edgbaston on Saturday 17th August.
For those who can find all 50, there is the chance to win one of five pairs of Investec Ashes Series tickets to see England and Australia battle it out.
Will Collinson, head of marketing at ECB commented: ‘This season really promises to be ‘Cricket’s Summer’. The #whatzat image celebrates all that is fun, interesting and quirky about our great game, and will no doubt engage thousands of fans all over the country.’
