As England begin their summer of cricket today at Lords, commercial director of the England & Wales Cricket Board, John Perera, gives SportIndustry.biz an insight into the significant boost of broadcast revenue into the governing body’s revenue – and the ongoing impact of the growing Indian marketplace.
Perera revealed that broadcast revenue now accounts for as much as 80% of the ECB’s revenue.
New and extended deals with the likes of Sky, Channel 5, BBC and Star Sports will see over $500 million come into the game over the next four years, with more deals expected to be announced across North America and Australia.

England take on New Zealand in the first of two-tests today, before a ODI and T20 Series throughout next month, with the ICC Champions Trophy also taking place between 6th and 23rd June.
