The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has launched a new initiative, titled the Big Cricket Conversation, which invites fans, players and stakeholders to have their say on the culture of the sport.

The project is aiming to ‘redefine cricket’s culture’, following last year’s Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket (ICEC) report, which found that racism, classism, elitism and sexism were all prevalent in cricket across England and Wales.

The national governing body is encouraging anyone with a connection to cricket to take part in the survey, in order to ‘help shape the newly refreshed values guiding our sport’.

In response to the ICEC report, the ECB introduced a new independent regulator in December, in order to enforce regulations, as part of its commitment to making the sport more inclusive.

In January, he ECB unveiled plans to invest an additional £4m-£5m annually into women’s cricket between 2025 and 2028.

The ECB is aiming to achieve equal pay within domestic cricket by 2029, and at international level by 2030.
