The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will be offereing cricket fans a chance to keep up to date with the England cricket team’s progress against Sri Lanka and Pakistan on digital billboards in host cities.

The billboards will turn into live scoreboards during matches, so when people pass they will be informed as to which stadium, which side is batting and the current score.

As part of a marketing campaign run by the ECB, the digital billboards will combine a scoreboard, campaign imagery and, in select cases, the @EnglandCricket twitter feed. Key milestones for England will also be highlighted in real time, with imagery showing players taking a wicket or reaching a 50 or 100-run milestone.

The campaign will be live in or near to the city hosting each of the 19 international cricket matches across England and Wales this summer.

Shoppers at Westfield White City, at the Trinity Centre in Leeds, Nottingham’s Victoria shopping centre and Westquay shopping centre in Southampton, as well as commuters around London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Newcastle will be among those able to keep an eye on the cricket score.

The programmatic outdoor scoreboard will also be live for the England women’s Natwest IT20 match against Pakistan, which forms part of a double header IT20 at Ageas Bowl on Tuesday 5th July. The digital outdoor site for this match will be at Westquay Shopping Centre in Southampton.

England are playing two Investec Test series, two Royal London One Day International Series and two Natwest T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka and Pakistan across the summer from May to September.

“It’s nice to know that people outside the ground will be able to keep up to date with how we’re doing on the pitch,” said England’s Test captain Alastair Cook. “Hopefully we’ll have plenty of support this summer against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.”
