The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the awarding of a NatWest International T20 against India next summer to Edgbaston and a NatWest Series ODI against Australia in 2015 to Emirates Old Trafford.

Both these matches were originally scheduled for the Emirates ICG Durham but have been re-awarded following further discussions between ECB and Durham CCC.

ECB chief executive David Collier said: ‘We congratulate the two venues on being awarded these fixtures which will form part of a very exciting programme of international cricket both next summer and in 2015.’

Collier, along with former England captain Mike Gatting, discussed the importance of sharing international competition amongst the nation’s venues at last month’s Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club. Check out the highlights at Sport Industry TV.

Meanwhile, as the first Investec Ashes Test began yesterday, the ECB has called on fans to show their support for the team.

Following the launch of the governing body’s summer campaign, RISE, the ECB’s new web application – http://www.riseforengland.com/ – allows fans to personalise their support by choosing from a range of England players, adding their own face to the team line up, before personalising the image further with their own name and message.

Fans can also get competitive on social media through www.ashesfanfaceoff.com/, where they can track who is winning the battle for tweets, likes and shares, as the greatest rivalry in sport goes digital. The site tracks which team and players have the best social buzz.

These web applications were developed by Brands2Life, and form part of the wider #Rise for the Ashes campaign, and will be live across the summer.
