EMC Computer Systems has extended its sponsorship deal with Aviva Premiership team London Wasps to 2012.
Technology company EMC signed as Wasps sponsor in 2009, marking the most lucrative commercial partnership in the team’s’ history with a £1m, two-year deal and replacing Magner’s as the team’s shirt sponsor.
EMC’s technological support has enabled the London club to develop their information systems both on and off the pitch as part of its long-term partnership.
Whilst EMC has benefitted from increased brand exposure in the two seasons it has been associated with Wasps – seeing the team play in front of 60,000 at the St. George’s Day Game at Twickenham.
London Wasps also recently confirmed that the LV= Cup clash with Harlequins will be staged in Abu Dhabi later this month.
The game will become the first ever UK domestic fixture to be played overseas after the go-ahead was given by the LV= Cup tournament organisers, the Rugby Football Union, title sponsors LV=, Premiership Rugby, Sky Sports, the International Rugby Board and opponents Harlequins.
EMC Computer Systems Limited also recently signed a three-year agreement with the Scotland Rugby Union to sponsor Scotland’s Autumn Tests until 2012.
