England Athletics has announced a partnership with sports dedicated crowdfunding platform Sponsorise.Me.
Since its launch in 2013, Sponsorise.Me has become Europe’s leading sports crowdfunding platform, helping more than 1,000 athletes and clubs reach their targets.
England Athletics members, from the grassroots through to elite level, can use Sponsorise.Me to raise funds for a range of projects, including equipment, costs associated with training, transport costs, competition related costs and accommodation.
Loic Yviquel, Sponsorise.Me’s founder and CEO said: “Sponsorise.Me is an alternative solution for England Athletics’ athletes and clubs up and down England to generate additional revenue by engaging with their followers and supporters, along with promoting Athletics in the local and wider community. Forming this partnership with England Athletics shows that they are determined to help their members achieve their goals and develop the sport by giving them the chance to raise funding. We are very excited to have this partnership and look forward to helping as many people as possible.”
England Athletics head of local delivery, Chris Mallender, said: “This partnership with Sponsorise.Me provides a new way to help athletes and clubs fulfil their ambitions. Working with sponsorise.me gives athletes and others a way to gain financial support for specific projects from within their local communities or social networks.
“We know many people in the sport, as well as in local communities, have a strong desire to help others achieve their ambitions in the sport and this gives a new way of enabling that to happen.”
Team GB athlete Tom Burton has already raised £2,255 to help him make this year’s Olympic Games, and Commonwealth Games athlete Selina Litt is currently raising funding to cover physio and massage costs.
