England Hockey, the national governing body for hockey in England, has announced Pitchero as an endorsed provider of club and league websites.

The new partnerships managed by England Hockey will help all clubs and leagues create professional websites whilst saving volunteers hours of time each week with mobile apps management.

The scheme’s launch includes the development of an integration hub for data at England Hockey delivered by technology partners Ajilon and Inforexx. The hub provides the ability for leagues and clubs to use different platforms but still be able to share data.

The aim is to help make club and league administrators lives easier by ensuring key information such fixtures, results and league tables are available across systems rather than restricted to one. Over time this should reduce the need for clubs to duplicate effort by entering information multiple times. This approach, linked to the ability to choose your preferred provider, should allow clubs and league to pick a solution that suits them best.

Mark Fletcher, CEO of Pitchero said: “Pitchero is the UK’s number one provider of hockey club websites with almost 50% of clubs using Pitchero to power their club website and mobile apps.

“This innovation by England Hockey is at a perfect time for Pitchero as we launch Pitchero Together a new service designed for National Governing Bodies.

“Pitchero fully supports England Hockey and hope other governing bodies follow a similar model as technology plays a crucial role in grassroots sport. Pitchero looks forward to being a key digital partner of England Hockey for many years to come.”

Kate Richardson-Walsh, who signed a deal with Pitchero last year, said: “I think this is a really positive step forward for England Hockey and one that should bring lots of benefits to clubs all over the country.

“One of the biggest challenges facing National Governing Bodies, not just Hockey, is increasing participation and growing revenues and I know that technology partners like Pitchero are there to help.

“I want to see my sport grow and see young men and women given the opportunities that I had. That starts by joining a team and the easier that process for players and the people within the club the more chance we have of growing the sport.

“As a result, participation grows, we see new stars blossoming and hopefully see English players going on to win honours at the highest level.
