England Hockey has announced its continued support of UK charity Alzheimer’s Research UK during the FIH Men’s World Cup by committing to wearing the charity’s logo on the front of the team’s shirts.
The tournament will take place in India from 13th to 29th January 2023. England’s men’s national hockey side will hope that the shirt sponsorship agreement will gain additional exposure and awareness for the dementia research charity on a global stage.
World Cup England international Nick Bandurak, said, “It is an honour to wear the Alzheimer’s Research UK logo on our playing shirts throughout the World Cup – as a squad we hope we can create awareness of the charity’s work and their vision of a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia.”
England Hockey will also be supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK’s campaigns through the month of January. England Hockey CEO, Nick Pink, commented, “It is fantastic that we can continue our relationship with Alzheimer’s Research UK in this way.
“The work they do is life changing, and I know the support Imran and his family have received from Alzheimer’s Research UK and the hockey community has been so important to him over the past few years. England Hockey is privileged to be able to contribute in a small way to raise awareness of the charity’s cause.”
Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Director of Supporter Led Fundraising, Lucy Squance, added, “We are so grateful to England Hockey for their ongoing support to us as a charity. We know how important the cause is to the England Men’s squad but also to many people in the hockey community across England. We wish the men’s team the best of luck during the FIH World Cup in India.”
England kick off their World Cup campaign in Friday 13th January against home nation rivals Wales.
