For the third year running there is a line up of renowned players for the England v Ireland Rugby Legends game on Friday 16th March at The Stoop, Twickenham – including Jason Robinson, Jason Leonard, Austin Healey, Andy Gomersall and Shane Byrne. Tickets start at £10 in aid of the RFU Injured Players Foundation, RPA Benevolent Fund in England and IRFU Charitable Trust in Ireland.

The match kicks off a big weekend for the nations, as England and Ireland clash on St Patrick’s Day – the final day of the Six Nations – with England still in with a mathematical chance of leapfrogging Wales for the title.

The England Legend’s team, captained by Martin Corrie, will include Jason Robinson, Jason Leonard, Austin Healey, Mark Regan, Richard Cockerill, Andy Gomersall and Tim Stimpson.

The England Rugby Legends has announced Inoapps as Associate Shirt Sponsor joining Team Sponsor, Validus Re.

Ireland will be hoping to reclaim the Stuart Mangan Memorial Cup from last year with Shane Byrne leading a team including Mick Galway, Eric Miller, Malcolm O’Kelly, Nick Popplewell, Justin Bishop, Kieron Dawson and Anthony Foley.

X-Factor finalist Andy Abraham, will also be performing before the game at 19:15.

The match is being played in aid of the RFU Injured Players Foundation, RPA Benevolent Fund in England and IRFU Charitable Trust in Ireland.

Tickets will start at £10, concessions £5, and are now on sale from www.englandirelandlegends.co.uk or www.quins.co.uk

Martin Corry said: ‘I’d like to thank all the players for making themselves available, all to a man were quick to say “yes” and equally quick to ask for a baggier shirt than last year and after our monumental win in Dublin last year this fixture seems to go from strength to strength which is ironic as the reverse is true for the players.’

‘Please if you hold any of these players in high regard don’t let their performance ruin that!’

Shane Byrne added: ‘This year we mean business. Doing the maths our defeat in Dublin (2011) makes it 1 all on aggregate and leads me to believe that 2012’s confrontation has all the makings of a thriller.’

‘This is the game that really matters. Yes we are one year older, yes we are two steps slower but this year we are more competitive than ever. Once again we will be risking our reputation in order to raise money for three very worthy charities. See you on Friday for a much needed Guinness!’
