Sports consultancy, Seven League, has announced an extension to its partnership with England Netball, taking the relationship into a year that will see a home-hosted 2019 World Cup take place in Liverpool.

The extended role sees Seven League, shortlisted for Agency of the Year at this year’s BT Sport Industry Awards, continue to work with the governing body as they implement a new digital strategy at a critical moment in the sport’s evolution.

The announcement comes following a triumphant campaign on Australia’s Gold Coast that saw their women scoop a Commonwealth Games gold medal. The drama played out in front of a live terrestrial TV audience and, according to the agency, prompted a 2,000% MoM increase against traffic for the “Where and How To Play Netball” section on England Netball’s website.

Over the past twelve months Seven League, who work with a number of clients such as Tottenham Hotspur and FC Barcelona, has been part of the internal team reporting into England Netball CEO Joanna Adams.

Following a root and branch audit of England Netball’s digital channels, Seven League has set out a strategy for change across all elements of digital. A key initial focus included working with the governing body to establish a new content style and approach for social media, delivering growth over recent months.

Seven League and England Netball will now work together to further maximise the digital opportunities following their Commonwealth Games success.

Lewis Wiltshire, consulting partner at Seven League said: “We are delighted to be able to extend our hugely valued relationship with England Netball, at such an exciting time in their history. I was also proud that the digital strategy we set out for England Netball a year ago meant they were well-prepared to capitalise on a sudden rush of increased interest. Netball has many versions of the game, for all ages and levels of fitness, and when digital raises awareness of that, and facilitates women and girls getting fit and staying active, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
