England Rugby League has announced a new partnership with Monster HydroSport, which will become an Official Partner to the Men’s, Women’s, and Wheelchair England teams.

The partnership will see the branding of Monster Energy’s HydroSport range featured on the England playing shirts across the three teams, who will compete in a Rugby League World Cup on home soil in 2021.

The deal sees Monster Energy add Rugby League to its sport sponsorship portfolio for the first time, with a range of partnerships already in place with sports stars such as Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton and golfer Tiger Woods.

The brand is also associated with numerous properties and rights holders across sport including NASCAR, Rallycross, Bellator MMA and the UK’s official body for university esports, NSE (National Student Esports), as well as a host of Premier League football clubs, including West Ham, Everton, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

“We are delighted to announce this significant deal with Monster HydroSport, they are renowned for their relationships with high energy sports and we believe this is a perfect fit for Rugby League,” said Mark Foster, Chief Commercial Officer, the Rugby Football League.

“We are really excited to work with the global drinks brand and look forward to creating some engaging content during the year.”

England and St Helens player, Alex Walmsley added: “This is great news for all three England teams that we will be able to work with Monster this year.

“Having taken part in the promo shoot I can see how excited they are to be working with us and I’m sure they have big plans for their social media channels to help spread the Rugby League word in the build up to the World Cup later on this year.”
