The Football Association is set to announce that England’s final Wembley warm-up match ahead of the World Cup in Brazil will be against Peru, according to media reports.

The BBC reports that the fixture is expected to be played on 30th May, though a date is yet to be officially confirmed.

Manager Roy Hodgson will name his 30-man provisional squad ahead of the friendly with the South Americans, before flying to the US to play Honduras and Ecuador in June at their pre-tournament base in Miami.

England were originally expected to face Jurgen Klinsmann’s USA as one of the two warm-up friendlies in Miami, but the World Cup draw – with England playing Italy in the humid city of Manaus – forced the FA to look at other options.

The FA has lined up the three Latin American teams for the build up to a tournament where England will play Italy (14th June), Uruguay (19th June) and Costa Rica (24th June) in Group D.

England will have to travel 1,777 miles from their chosen base in Rio for their first match in the tropical heat of Manaus, which is in the Amazon jungle, with temperatures reaching 30C and humidity is about 80%.
