TOP partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Procter & Gamble, has announced its partnership with heptathlete and Olympic gold medallist, Jessica Ennis-Hill, and her mum, Alison Powell, for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, as part of the company’s relaunched ‘Thank You, Mum’ campaign.
The world champion will be partnering with Pampers, Olay, and Venus to celebrate mums in the UK as she prepares to compete on the world’s stage.
The ‘Thank You, Mum’ campaign for Rio 2016 continues P&G’s drive to bring the ‘Proud Sponsor of Mums’ to the Olympic Games. The campaign launched for the London 2012 Olympic Games and celebrates the role mums play on an athlete’s journey to the Olympic Games.
The campaign will activate through a variety of media channels and retailers throughout the UK, featuring P&G Olympic Games themed athlete packaging, end caps and displays.
P&G brands will also support athletes, mums and families on the ground in Rio at the P&G Family Home. The P&G Family Home is for mums and families to experience P&G brand services, watch the Olympic Games and meet fellow families.
“I am so proud to be working with Pampers, Olay and Venus. As a new mum, Pampers helps me give Reggie the best care every day. Olay and Venus help me to take care of myself. Not only that, but as part of P&G’s Thank You Mum campaign, they are celebrating my own mum, who has been a driving force and inspiration in helping me realise my dreams. She’s been a huge influence and support, so it means so much that P&G and all their brands, that support mums every day, are recognising her as well”, said Jessica Ennis-Hill.
“P&G brands are committed to giving mums the best, each and every day,” said Roisin Donnelly, P&G UK marketing director. “Not just mums of Olympians but all mums, around the world. Our brands live in the everyday moments that make up the journey all mums take with their kids, so that’s why when we partner with an athlete, we also celebrate the mum who raised them.”
Jess’ mum, Alison Powell, added: “It’s an honour to be part of the Thank You, Mum campaign which is celebrating mums of Olympians from across the globe. I’m looking forward to working with Procter & Gamble, alongside my daughter on the road to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.”
