European football legends Robert Pires, Marcel Desailly, and Christian Ziege have joined forces with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, a partner of the UEFA Europa League, to offer four fans a road trip during the knockout stages of the competition.

Launching in January, Enterprise’s ‘Backseat Pundit’ competition will give four winners – each with a friend – the opportunity to travel with Pires, Desailly or Ziege as their ‘backseat’ companion to a game, to provide some punditry and insight into the match ahead.

Once they are at the stadium, the winners will be treated to a pitch side tour, VIP hospitality and a seat at the post-match press conference.

Pires said: “We all know someone who thinks they are a bit of a football expert and whose views and opinions we have to put up with on the way to the game. We are delighted to be working with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to change the experience for four lucky fans and their friends travelling to the game this season. We have more than 40 years’ professional footballing experience between us, so we’ve got plenty to share.”

Jim Stoeppler, vice president, European brand marketing at Enterprise, said: “The Enterprise brand is known around the world for providing excellent customer service, and our partnership with the UEFA Europa League enables us to deliver unforgettable experiences to football fans around the world.

“Our ‘Backseat Pundit Experience’ starts from the moment a fan leaves their house with their friends. They’ll be accompanied by one of our three legends who will give them a unique and memorable insight into the match ahead before they enjoy a VIP Match Day Experience and seats at the managers’ post-match press conference. It will be a truly unforgettable experience.”

The competition launches on 15th January, 2018. To enter fans need to submit a short video of themselves analysing topics in the UEFA Europa League to demonstrate that they have the punditry skills. The best entries will be rewarded with a trip to selected fixtures from the Round of 32 through to the Final in Lyon alongside Robert Pires, Marcel Desailly or Christian Ziege.
