ESPN has relaunched its Goals app ahead of the new Barclays Premier League season – with the broadcasters making the service, which gives fans the chance to catch up on action from every Premier League game within minutes, freely available for the first time.
ESPN Goals will feature video of goals and match action, live scores and fixtures, along with additional video including match previews, weekend round-ups and ESPN interviews.
An enhanced video-led interface will be introduced and ESPN Goals will also send fans notifications alerting them when goals have been scored.
The service will be available via Apple iTunes, Android Market, Nokia’s OVI Store, the Blackberry App World and Windows Phone Marketplace.
Tom Gleeson, vice-president of digital media at ESPN International, said: ‘Let’s face it, fans are busier than ever and can’t be in front of the TV or at the stadium for all the matches as we’d like. At ESPN, we understand that fans want their football wherever they are’.
‘The new, free ESPN Goals app delivers Premier League fans the essential mobile app, keeping them connected to all the goals and highlights, all season long’.
‘In its first season ESPN Goals showed advertisers the audience that they can reach on mobile. In season two we want to connect even more fans to all the goals from every match in the Barclays Premier League’.
