ESPN Signs Up For Bt Sport Industry Awards
Sport Industry Group has announced that ESPN, the world’s biggest sports media company, has come on board as Official Partner to the BT Sport Industry Awards 2016.
ESPN has a growing content business in the UK that includes a collection of leading sports websites, media distribution, and a long-term partnership with BT Sport that brings the ESPN onto BT Sport channel into millions of homes.
Over four million people come to ESPN.co.uk, ESPNcricinfo and ESPN FC every month in the UK to enjoy world-class sports news, features and live coverage which now includes highlights from every ICC major cricket tournament, following a new deal struck in January.
Charly Classen, vice president and general manager, ESPN EMEA, said: “ESPN is delighted to be working with one of the highlights of the sport industry calendar. With the existing relationships ESPN has with many of the brands being recognised at the awards, the Awards are a natural stage for us to reinforce our positioning at the heart of the UK industry.”
A personalisation engine was introduced into the UK edition of ESPN’s multi-sport website in February, enabling fans of top football teams to follow their chosen club and every major sport, with the latest news, features and results available when they visit the site.
