Cricket’s Champions League Twenty20 tournament has appointed ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) as its long-term global TV production partner.

The deal entails a series of new features, which will include tournament coverage and an HD telecast of the championship. ESS claims it will use of as many as 34 cameras at each venue to cover the matches, including Fly cameras to capture aerial views, a boundary-side field camera, a new mid-wicket camera position, and slow-motion cameras. Player and umpire microphones will also be used.

Additionally, ESS will use a new suite of graphics for the broadcast, specially developed for Twenty20.

A new anthem for the tournament has also been composed, and different versions will be featured in the presentation, including title sequence, music video and other on-air elements.
