talkSPORT reached 2.9 million listeners for the second quarter of the year, from 2nd April to 24th June, according to industry figures released by RAJAR on Thursday.
Weekly listening hours now stand at 18.8 million, with Drive (4-7pm weekdays), presented by Darren Gough and Adrian Durham, achieved its highest ever audience reaching over 1.2 million listeners.
Moz Dee, talkSPORT programme director said: ‘While these figures are slightly down on the record highs that we achieved in recent quarters, we expected some fluctuations following our move to an all sports format. Our weekday programming is very strong with a record audience for Drive and while our weekends have been without live Premier League football this returns in just a couple of weeks time on the 18 August.’
‘This season we’re bringing listeners more live top level domestic football than ever before with the FA Cup, England games and our first ever commentary of the Community Shield, so we have every cause to be optimistic.’
talkSPORT reaches 2.4 million men representing 82% of the audience, a 2% point increase on Q1. 55% of the total talkSPORT audience are categorised as ABC1.
The station’s website has continued to grow and has recorded its highest ever number of unique users. Over 3 million people visited talkSPORT.co.uk in July 2012.
