The European Tour has appointed Jo Fletcher, currently the chief financial officer of Vodafone Americas, who will take up the post of chief financial officer with the Tour from 9th January 2017.
Fletcher, who is also a chartered accountant, will assume overall financial responsibility for the European Tour group – which comprises the European Tour, the European Challenge Tour and the European Senior Tour, as well as being managing partner of Ryder Cup Europe.
She joined the Vodafone group in 2014, firstly as head of finance for technology, strategy and operations before becoming the CFO of Vodafone Americas in April 2015
Jo also spent the first six years of her career at Ernst & Young (EY), where her clients included Scottish & Newcastle plc, who she then joined as commercial finance manager in 2001.
Fletcher said: “I am delighted to be joining the European Tour at such a pivotal and exciting time in its history, with the announcement of the Rolex Series last week in Dubai allied to the tremendous strides it is making in terms of content and innovation.
“I look forward to continuing to enhance value for the European Tour members by combining my global business background with the many opportunities that the sport of golf presents.”
Keith Pelley, chief executive, European Tour said: “I am delighted to welcome Jo Fletcher as our new chief financial officer. As any company grows and develops it is imperative to have an experienced and accomplished senior finance executive on board and one look at Jo’s track record shows she certainly fits that bill.
“Her knowledge across corporate finance, strategic planning and global operations will be a huge asset to the European Tour and she will become a valuable member of our executive leadership team at Wentworth.”
