Eurosport has been confirmed as the new broadcast partner for the Revolution Series and the London Six Day.

The London Six Day returns to the UK’s capital for the first time in nearly 40 years, later this month.

The event, which will be shown live on Eurosport across all its platforms in Europe and Asia-Pacific, will take place at the Lea Valley Velodrome from 18th to 23rd October.

British Eurosport managing director David Kerr said: “There is no doubt that the new London Six Day will be a fantastic event. The calibre of the riders and the nature of track racing means we know the event will be extremely competitive, but I know a lot of work has also gone into the in-venue presentation and entertainment, so the atmosphere for spectators and our Eurosport viewers alike will be second to none.”

Meanwhile, Eurosport will also show the Revolution Series, covering the 2015/16 season of the premier elite track cycling league, which will feature teams such as Team Sky, Orica-GreenEDGE and Team Wiggins.

Taking place across five events in Manchester, Glasgow and London the series will provide important preparation and UCI qualification points.

The first event takes place on 24th October at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester. The series then continues in London, before heading to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, with the final two rounds in Manchester in January 2016.

James Pope, CEO of Revolution organisers FACE Partnership said: “We are very excited to be able to provide live coverage of Revolution for the first time. We’ve managed to build an audience of almost a million viewers last season so the new partnership with Eurosport will help us grow this significantly and reach more fans than ever before in the UK and internationally.”

Eurosport also has the worldwide sub-license rights for both events.
