Eurosport has launched a Virtual Reality (VR) app to coincide with the French Open tennis tournament.
The app provides highlights of each day’s play, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the players all in 360-degree video.
It also has 360-degree on-court views to allow fans to see it through the eyes of the players.
It builds on Eurosport’s earlier work with skier Bode Miller at the Alpine Skiing World Cup as he took on the Beaver Creek course, which is also available on the app.

After the Roland Garros, the VR app will be used for its other sports broadcasts to provide different perspectives and behind the scenes footage.
“We continually strive to deliver new and exciting ways for fans to immerse themselves in world-class sport,” says Eurosport CEO Peter Hutton. “Using innovative production technologies, the Eurosport VR app will transport fans right to the heart of the action and bring them closer than ever to their heroes.”
The Eurosport VR app is available on iOS, Android and can be used with Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard.
