BBC’s Formula 1 podcast, ‘F1: Back at Base’ has returned for a second season offering fans access to McLaren and Aston Martin Formula 1 teams during the final 10 races of 2024.
Produced by IMG, the series provides an in-depth look at the two UK-based teams, focusing on their efforts to secure their respective goals throughout the season.
The series features interviews with key figures from McLaren, including drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, CEO Zak Brown, Team Principal Andrea Stella, and Chief Designer Rob Marshall.
Aston Martin drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, Group CEO Andy Cowell, and incoming Managing Technical Partner Adrian Newey, also contribute to the podcast.

The series covers the battle between McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull for Constructors’ Championship positioning, alongside Aston Martin’s pursuit of top engineering talent.
Additional perspectives are provided by Formula 1 President Stefano Domenicali and Las Vegas Grand Prix CEO Renee Wilm.
Josh Hartnett, Narrator of F1: Back at Base – How To Go Racing, said, “As a long-time fan of Formula 1 and racing in general, I can honestly say that this season was unlike any other. With as much action as we see on track, there’s so much more work happening behind the scenes that we as fans rarely get to see.
“I’m delighted to raise the curtain on these two iconic F1 teams alongside the BBC, and take listeners inside the heart of the operations to learn the secrets of how these teams prepare for the fastest competition in the world.”
