F1 continues to draw increasing TV audiences, showing a global 6.1% increase for live races for the 2010 season, according to IFM Sports Marketing Surveys global report.

The viewing figures have been boosted by substantial increases in Central Europe – up 28.5% – and Russia, perhaps due to the interest of Russian Renault driver Vitaly Petrov.

Significant increases in North America were helped by the reinstated Canadian GP and figures are sure to rise again when the USA grand prix returns in 2011.

The traditional markets in Western Europe have also seen an increase in viewers as F1 continues to provide solid marketing platform for sponsors.

??Swiss bank UBS has provided F1 with fresh financial investment after agreeing a global sponsorship deal last month.
