Following several threats by F1 teams to pull out of the sport, a meeting between them and motorsport boss Max Mosley will take place in an attempt to resolve the disagreement over the new rules for 2010.

The new voluntary budget cap of £40m, giving teams operating within it greater technical freedom, has caused an uproar from the teams, with many including Ferrari, Toyota, Red Bull and Renault, claiming they will walk if the rule is not reconsidered.

The teams’ umbrella organisation Fota will now meet Mosley, as well as F1’s supremo boss Bernie Ecclestone in London.

Ecclestone has claimed that Ferrari is ‘the key to F1,’ adding, ‘They have been there for 60 years. They are partners of ours. They are the people we need to take into consideration.’
