The FA has announced that it will host the Emirates FA Cup gaming tournament, with videogame fans invited to compete at Wembley Stadium, connected by EE.
Early rounds will take place at different places inside the stadium, such as The Royal Box, the changing rooms and the players’ tunnel, with two finalist set to play the virtual final using the 82 foot screens at Wembley.
Gamers of all abilities are welcome and the eventual winner will receive a VIP experience at The Emirates FA Cup Final.
Players can enter via www.EveryGamersAdventure.com, where they will be entered into a ballot and subsequently selected at random to be one of the 64 names in the third round draw. Applications are now open and will close on 18th March.
Lucy Roberts-Hartley, The Emirates FA Cup marketing manager said: “We are expecting amateurs to face elite gamers, just as The Emirates FA Cup pits many David and Goliath fixtures. We hope the lure of playing everywhere from The Royal Box to the Wembley Stadium pitch will entice the very best gamers from across the globe.
“Many adventures have culminated at Wembley Stadium, but this gaming tournament will bring the spirit of The Emirates FA Cup to a new audience, whilst retaining its magic and unique history.”
