The Football Association (FA) CEO Martin Glenn and participation and development director, Kelly Simmons, will join senior sporting executives at the final Sport Industry Breakfast Club of 2016 on 10th November.

Kelly Simmons, who was presented with the Leadership in Sport Award at the BT Sport Industry Awards, oversees the national game as the FA’s participation and development director, including children’s, grassroots and semi-professional football. She is currently leading the development and implementation of The FA National Game Strategy, which will invest £200m into grassroots football over a four-year period.

A member of the UEFA Grassroots Panel and the FIFA Women’s Committee, Kelly is a figurehead for women’s football, responsible for the implementation of The FA’s ‘Game Changer’, which has seen the transformation of women’s football, including the development of the FA Women’s Super League.

Joining Kelly on the stage is Martin Glenn, who was named the FA’s chief executive officer last year. Martin, a qualified grassroots coach, came to prominence during his time at Walkers Snack Foods in the early nineties, becoming president of the company by 1998. He ran the business until 2006, when he left to join Birdseye, which had been acquired from Unilever for £1.2bn.

Glenn is also a former non-executive director of Premier League champions Leicester City, having sat on the club’s Board from 2002 to 2006.

50 years on from England football’s last FIFA World Cup triumph, the pair will discuss the work being done at St George’s Park to build towards future success, progress in the women’s game, plans for grassroots, and more.

The Sport Industry Breakfast Club, supported by MP & Silva, will take place on 10th November, the eve of England’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland at Wembley Stadium, and two days before the women’s Euro 2017 draw in Rotterdam.

The members-only networking event, which will take place at The BT Centre, is the industry’s number one networking event series with four content-led networking breakfasts over the course of the year. Each event welcomes up to 200 guests from across the industry for an interview with a panel of leading figures from the world of sport and business.

The last Sport Industry Breakfast Club saw one of the fastest growing areas in the industry examined, with the commercial opportunities around eSports debated amongst an expert panel.

Tickets are still available for the final event of 2016 for £195 + VAT. Find out more here.
