Facebook has released its data from this Summer’s Rio Olympic Games, which saw 277 million unique people having 1.5 billion interactions.
The data provided dates from the 5th – 21st August 2016 and in that period the ‘Loudest Countries’ on the platform were Brazil, United States, United Kingdom, Mexico and India.
Top posts, those with the most interactions, likes, comments and shares – not including video views, included the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo congratulating Usain Bolt, Neymar’s victory, Nerendra Modi congratulating PV Sindhu, Zac Efron surprising Simone Biles and Usain Bolt’s Gold.
The most loved moment on Facebook, was when Zac Efron surprised Simone Biles, who was also ranked fourth amongst the top athletes which saw Michael Phelps in top spot, followed by Neymar and Katie Ledecky.
Phelps provided the most-viewed live broadcast by an Olympic athlete during the game, which to date has 3.97 million views. His sport did just as well, with swimming taking top spot on the top event, followed by gymnastics, track, football and beach volleyball.
