Sports merchandise specialist Fanatics has agreed a new partnership with Chelsea FC to become the Premier League club’s official online retailer.
Under the agreement, Fanatics will operate a new and improved Chelsea megastore service on a worldwide scale.
It follows a decision by the club to move away from its previous regionalised model, under which local distributors operated online stores.
Chelsea believes the new streamlined approach, underpinned by Fanatics’ network of domestic and international distribution centres, will put an end to issues with product inconsistency and stock levels in certain markets.

Chelsea FC commercial director, Chris Townsend, explained: ‘We are excited to be working with Fanatics as we look to enhance our online shopping experience to suit the needs of our ever-growing global fanbase.
‘Chelsea supporters all over the world will benefit from the digital-first focus of the relationship, enjoying a fantastic service across a broad range of club products.’
Fanatics international president, Steve Davis, said: ‘We are pleased to be working with Chelsea once again and to have re-signed a long-term deal with one of the biggest clubs in the world.
‘We are excited to kickstart this next phase of our partnership and are committed to providing fans with the most robust assortment of high-quality merchandise which can be easily shopped regardless of device or location.’
Fanatics’ renewal of its Chelsea deal follows a flurry of recent announcements, including an eight-year project to develop England Rugby’s global retail and e-commerce programme.
The project will see a new Twickenham stadium store open ahead of the first of this season’s autumn internationals.
