Formula One team, Ferrari, has renewed its long-term deal with tobacco sponsor Philip Morris and its Marlboro brand.

The length of the new deal was not disclosed, but the brand has been sponsoring the team from the mid-1980s, with the current deal due to expire at the end of this year.

Philip Morris has been title sponsor since 1997, but Marlboro logos haven’t appeared on the cars since 2007, following a European Union ban on tobacco advertising in 2005. Although a limited number of territories including China and Monaco allowed Ferrari to carry the logo until 2007.

The team has retained the red and white colour scheme in its team livery and corporate branding.
