Motorsport governing body the FIA has confirmed the F1 calendar for the 2008
season with a number of Grands Prix switching dates.
The Belgian and Italian races have swapped places, with the former race at
Spa now taking place on 7th September and Monza hosting its Grand Prix a week
later.
The Japanese and Chinese races have also traded dates – 12th October for Fuji
Speedway and 19th October for Beijing.
The Canadian Grand Prix, pencilled in for 8th June, remains provisional
depending on contracts but the extended 18-race calendar will include street
races in Valencia and Singapore with the latter potentially becoming a night
race.
The season will end on 2nd November in Brazil with the British Grand Prix on
6th July.
The Turkish race had already been moved from August to 11th May, to
accommodate the Valencia street race.
