The Football League has announced a new two-year sponsorship deal with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK, kicking off with the Sky Bet play-off finals across the bank holiday weekend.
As the official car partner of the league, covering the second, third and fourth divisions of English club football, Fiat received presence at Wembley for the finals.
Fiat, already a partner of Premier League club Aston Villa and Championship side Fulham, will offer all 72 Football League clubs the chance to participate in an affinity scheme, which will include online campaigns and local dealer promotions.
Karl Howkins, the deputy managing director at FCA UK, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for both Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK and The Football League.
“We are enjoying considerable success with other football and sports cooperation and I am sure this latest partnership with The Football League will bring us similar results.”
The weekend saw Norwich City win the “£120m match” on Monday, defeating Middlesbrough 2-0 at Wembley. Earlier Preston North End beat Swindon 4-0 and while Southend crept past Wycombe on penalties to secure promotion to the Championship and League One, respectively.
