FIFA has unveiled a new ‘Fan Experience Panel’, a group of 25 football fans from around the world who will be ‘continuously consulted’ by the governing body as it looks to ‘enhance the football experience on and off the pitch’.

The group, which features members of the existing FIFA Fan Movement representing six continents and 17 countries, will provide the governing body with input into the development and ‘refinement cycle’ of technology-led innovations, including participating in a series of workshops, conducting beta tests for new technologies and innovations, and attending virtual and in-person events to provide first-hand feedback and input to FIFA.

“The ‘Fan Movement by FIFA’ is a core pillar of our marketing strategy, based on a true value exchange between FIFA and the community,” said Jean-François Pathy, Director of Marketing, FIFA.

“It is paramount for the future of football that we foster a meaningful and collaborative dialogue with our audience and the Fan Experience Panel is a striking example of what we are aiming to achieve.

“All together, we are driving the game forward. All together, #WeLiveFootball.”

Johannes Holzmüller, Director of Football Technology & Innovation, FIFA, added: “As we look to enhance the football experience on and off the pitch, we want to provide fans with a meaningful voice to help shape the game they love.”

The Fan Experience Panel marks the first time that FIFA’s Football Technology & Innovation team has created an official panel of fans, while the governing body says the group’s feedback will be ‘considered alongside the perspectives of other key stakeholders’.
