Investec has announced England fast bowler Steve Finn as a new brand ambassador, helping to drive the specialist bank and asset manager’s digital activation of their Test match sponsorship – following England’s third and final Investec Test match against the West Indies at Edgbaston last week.
Finn lined up for England for the Test, taking 3 for 109, in a rain-hit match following the loss of the first two days – the first time the first two days of a Test were washed in England since 1964.
In November 2011, Investec signed a ten year sponsorship agreement, the longest in the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) history. As part of the sponsorship, Investec has launched The Investec Cricket Zone website which brings together a wealth of information about venues, schedules and live scores, alongside player analysis and the Investec Runs Predictor – an interactive game to accompany Investec Test matches.
Raymond van Niekerk, global marketing director of Investec, said: ‘Steve is one of the outstanding bowlers in cricket. As England’s youngest player to take 50 test wickets he has already demonstrated the high levels of skill and talent at his disposal and his considerable work ethic should allow for a great future in the game.’
‘Additionally, he is incredibly personable and therefore an ideal ambassador to help us grow the Investec Cricket Zone and engage with cricket fans.’
The England fast bowler will provide the Investec Cricket Zone with behind the scenes video blogs, live Q&A sessions with cricket fans as well as present a video introduction to test cricket for those new to the sport.
Steve added: ‘I am delighted to be working with Investec and helping them to involve cricket fans in their sponsorship activity. The Investec Cricket Zone is a fantastic place of entertainment and insight for cricket fans and really shows Investec’s passion and enthusiasm for the sport.’
