Five Strikes Serie A Rights Contract

Live coverage of Italy’s top-flight football league, Serie A, is returning to
terrestrial TV in the UK after Five agreed a new broadcast rights contract.

Five has struck a rights contract, brokered through Inform Group, giving the
broadcaster a package of live and highlights coverage from Serie A as well as
online and mobile content.

The agreement includes a weekly live match at 2:00pm on Sunday with an
additional match broadcast in Five’s late night sports programme output on
Mondays and a highlights programme on Saturday mornings at 11.30 am.

The deal is the first time live Serie A games have been on terrestrial TV
since the league’s contract with Channel 4 expired over five years ago.
