The Football League has launched a 47 match Family Football Festival to encourage families to attend a npower Football League game this autumn.

At each designated match there will be opportunities for the whole family to enjoy including fancy dress competitions, face painting and half-time entertainment.

Each club will announce specific activities at their designated fixture with family themed entertainment before, during and after each game.

Running until December, the Family Football Festival campaign is being launched by The Football League to attract new families to games.

As part of its outreach the Football League will be using facebook, Absolute Radio and a partnership with Netmums that will see ‘mummy bloggers’ reviewing Family Football Festival games to get their message across.

David Malkinson, head of marketing at The Football League, said: ‘The Football League and its member clubs have worked hard in recent seasons to ensure that the family experience at npower Football League matches is safe, enjoyable and good value for money’.

‘Our Family Excellence Award has helped clubs deliver an outstanding experience for families and we believe that League Football is a great leisure option for families, providing quality together time. The Family Football Festival campaign is the next step in our strategic plan and aims to re-engage former fans and their families as well as attract new families to matches’.
